Mauricio Montanchez.
The Detail.
Don Jesús Montanchez bought Los Guaduales in 2001 knowing almost nothing about coffee. His children learned it with him. Since his passing in 2021, his son Mauricio has farmed his own share of the land, and this Pink Bourbon is the clearest expression yet of what the family has built there.
Grown at 1600 MaSL in San Agustín, Huila. Cherries are harvested every three weeks and ferment in a wooden hopper for 12 hours before pulping, then dry ferment in majolica tanks for a further 48. Washed, then dried slowly for up to 20 days. This is a delicious cup for colder mornings.
